August 6, 2024 – What a whirlwind of a summer that felt like it sped up as it went on, right? June: fast. July: barely a blink!
Current situation and musings:
Without chronicling everything in detail, I’ll simply share it was a solid summer around here with two of my boys home…and I’ll miss certain things now that they are headed back to their respective campuses. But also there are some things I won’t miss!
I’ll miss their giant selves walking around my house and and giving me big muscular hugs. I’ll not miss the ever-present clothing tossed around on all the surfaces…
I’ll miss hanging out and talking to them while they cook large amounts of protein. I’ll not miss the pans that never stay seem to stay clean.
I’ll miss the clever things they say and the slang they teach me (“you ate down boots, Mom”). I’ll not miss wondering where they’ve gone with my car and used up all my gas!
Honestly, I’m being a bit tongue in cheek here, because I do miss them when they’re off in the world, but they have to go do life for themselves! They have to carve their lives into the future people they’re going to be. And I’m enjoying my front row seat (although sometimes I watch through slitted hands over my face EEEEEK…the non-fully formed brains…)!
On the summer theme, I do hope you’ve been watching even a little bit of the Olympics…I just LOVE the Olympics!! So inspiring! Such hard work over time all to be showcased in a short number of minutes, just wow!!
It can be a bit misleading because, yes, the athlete is competing alone, technically, but the truth is, it’s the team that surrounds them that pushes though loving, consistent support to be the best they can be, to push through the tough times, to come back from injury, to trust their own selves.
This is truly TEAMWORK, even though only ONE single person wears the medal around their neck. Teamwork makes the dream WORK!

And since the recent price roll-back to $48/mo, we have welcomed back several returning members!! They already know the value of the FOCUS Vortex, and now it’s no brainer-priced. So glad to have those gals back Zooming with us on the regular!

What tools will you implement going into this new season? There’s NO LACK of support out there: apps, groups, but no matter what you choose, it needs to work for you as far as your time and energy.
But, doing things alone?? Boooooo! How long does it take to make the bed alone vs with someone else?? That’s the special sauce of community.
Teamwork really DOES make the dream work. Come draft off the energy and GET MORE DONE this Fall!

First of all…Thursdays Digital Decluttering with Friends is back to the regularly scheduled programming this month. Got emails?? We can work on that! Let’s take out the digital trash! As always: 12p Central time on Thursdays!
BUT WAIT!! We will discuss all things calendars on Aug 15, 22, and 29. (Fall is coming remember??) And who are we bringing in to rock the house on the 22nd?
