Which flower really springs you into Spring?

March 30, 2021 — Hello to you, my reader! Just to set your expectation for today’s read, there is no crazy story this time. Sometimes, there just isn’t. This one is all about YOU (because you’re awesome and this crazy life needs navigating!)

As we find ourselves at the tail end of March, I want you to take a second to reflect on this past month, this past quarter…whichever (or both) speaks to you. How can you benefit from that reflection?

Just a short 3 months ago at the New Year, did you set some intentions or resolutions or word of year? (and possibly have strayed from or completely forgotten about that?)

I’m willing to bet that you have. And that’s OKAY! We all do. Life is crazy, man! The hamster wheel freight train is NOT your friend. It destroys your lovely intentions.

But, guess what? I think that you want to reset. You very much care about your life and the direction you want to take it.

That’s the key: YOU MUST INTENTIONALLY TAKE IT SOMEWHERE. Lead yourself. YOU CAN!

Take a moment, breathe, then reset. Re-start. Over and over. Day after day.

But guess what’s really cool? You’re not actually re-starting at the same “ground zero” because you are layering.

Like a garden. It’s full of nutrients that need aeration, more soil, and rotating. But the garden is there, always, full of potential.

(some lovely crocuses from FOCUS Member and CALM Collaborative member Renata P in Minnesota!)

Remember those Sesame Street old-school film reels where they time-lapsed tiny new plant shoots creeping out from the soil? Remember bringing home a bean plant to care for and record its stages of growth?

I think gardening with children is brilliant. So pure. So many lessons. I digress…

This month we are going to talk about our gardens (hint: it’s –>YOU) and how we can encourage our own new growth! I love this garden metaphor so much because there’s no debate over the value of investing your time, money and love into a garden. And the seasonality of it, too, which lends itself directly to some high hopes I have for you today.

Here’s my challenge to you: (Yes, it’s a little bit of work, but so worth it.)

Dial back into whatever intentions/resolutions/word of the year that you set back in January!! Write it on a post-it note, and index card, send yourself an email…and get some accountability!! Telling someone lets you own it.

We are all about this in my oh-so-awesome Facebook group: The CALM Collaborative. We would LOVE to help you dial back into your word of the year!!

We are 100% here to support each other…so I’ll say it again: WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER.

Your seeds of growth are ready to be planted and tended!! Let’s do this.

Cheers,
Ryan 🙂
